How to Stay Active at Home When You're Short on Time
Staying fit doesn’t mean spending hours exercising. With a busy schedule, you can still stay active using short, efficient movements that fit your day
1. Use Short Bursts of Exercise
Even 5–10 minutes of movement makes a difference. Try quick circuits: 10 push-ups, 15 squats, 30 seconds of jumping jacks. Repeat 2–3 times.
2. Make Chores Count
Vacuuming, scrubbing, and even laundry involve movement. Be mindful and energetic while doing them — it burns more calories than you think!
3. Stretch While Watching TV
Turn couch time into stretch time. Do simple hamstring stretches, hip openers, or sit in a squat position during your show.
4. Take Movement Breaks
Set a timer every hour to stand up, walk, or do 10 squats. It improves circulation and focus, especially if you work from home.
5. Walk During Phone Calls
Take your calls while walking around the house or outside. It’s a great way to add steps and stay mobile.
Bonus Tip:
Create a dedicated movement corner at home with a yoga mat or open space. When it's visible, you're more likely to use it!
